As I’m still going over all of my notes from PaleoFX, I thought I’d take a quick moment to let you Oly lifters know about a cool experience that (to my knowledge) hasn’t been done before. Emily and Cassie of Trap Door Athletics are putting on a 4.5 day olympic lifting retreat. Oh, and it’s in beautiful northern California. Emily and Cassie are both bad ass Philadelphia CrossFitters, so I’m happy to post this up for them, especially for those of you who are itching for some high quality coaching and a chance to hang out in CA. See below for more details.
From Trap Door:
“Join Trap Door Athletics and Coach David Miller in beautiful Northern California for Raising the Bar, an intensive Olympic weightlifting seminar, that will be held from Sunday, August 11 – Friday, August 16, 2013 at the Sequoia Retreat Center in Santa Cruz County, CA.
Head Coach David Miller, a USA Weightlifting International Level Coach (Level 4), will be joined by Pat Cullen-Carroll, also a USAW International Level Coach (Level 4), andVeronica Aguila, a USAW National Level Coach (Level 2). During this 4.5-day workshop, athletes will practice and refine their Olympic weightlifting technique, working with the coaches on perfecting form and increasing strength, becoming more technical and efficient lifters.
Raising the Bar is all-inclusive of meals, accommodations, coaching, a chauffeured wine tasting tour, and airport transfers to/from San Francisco International Airport and San Jose International Airport. Custom lifting platforms will allow athletes to lift outdoors all week, under the natural shade of the Redwood forests of Northern California. The week will culminate with a mock Olympic lifting meet, held prior to departure on Friday afternoon. The cost of attendance starts at $2,200 per person for quadruple occupancy.
In order to provide athletes with the best possible experience, this workshop is limited to 24 participants. Athletes of all levels are encouraged to register – programming will be tailored to meet the needs and abilities of individual athletes.
